The Be Real section is very helpful. I think that the concrete information it gave me will be the most helpful thing for my own safe drinking.

I went to the BBQ on the quad yesterday, and got one of the wristbands. While I had a lot of fun, I just wanted to give a suggestion about the wristbands. In a town that I know, they have wristbands that give the number for a ride home service for people to wear to the bar. I was thinking you could do the same thing, except put the CUPS acronym on them. That way, people wouldn't necessarily have to memorize it, but they would have the information when it's important.

I am sending BEWise this email because I am interested in being a part of the campaign this year again. I have DJed for the campaign twice already and would like to know if you need a DJ for your BEWise events. In the past years you guys have really liked my music and it was a blast to DJ for you. Let me know. Thanks!

Losing a loved one to a tragic death can be overwhelming. It can be more complicated when it's a sibling's death due to a substance overdose. There may be a range of feelings from sadness and grief to anger and guilt. These feelings can be so powerful that they become difficult to handle. While there is no one right way to feel or react, some ways of coping can be harmful, such as using substances yourself. Many people find talking with someone to be helpful, whether it be with friends, family, a support group, a therapist, or a religious or spiritual leader. Here at SU, you can confidentially talk to a therapist at the Counseling Center and perhaps participate in our Grief Group. You can also speak with a chaplain at Hendricks Chapel. Both services are available at no cost to students.

I have a question, on how I should deal with the loss of a sibling of mine who dies of alcohol poisoning. What can I do to deal with it in a better way? what do you advise?
bewise on October 21, 2013, 8:44 pm
Great question! Outside of the Hill Communications student-run public relations firm, we do not have a formal student group working on the campaign. That said, we are looking to expand student involvement, so if you are a student interested in getting involved, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Hope to hear from you soon!

I think the reason most people don't call is because of getting in trouble. I think there should be a way to call for a person without consequences. This will save lives because students will know they aren't risking getting themselves or anyone else in trouble. What is more important? Saving a life or catching students drinking?

It would be great if you guys could create an App for smartphones with the BAC calculator - I think students may actually use it, and it would also help measure how successful you've been in getting the word out based on how many people have downloaded it for use. (You could also include the emergency numbers and other info) Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your support Sam! You can contact Katelyn Cowen in SU Health and Wellness Promotions at email@example.com for more information about how to get involved. We hope to hear from you!

I would like to say that I love the BeWise Owl. The first thing that caught my eye was the cartoons. They are so wonderful. I am so thankful for CUPS. It actually helped me save a friend and a friend save me. CUPS helped me and her to remember what the signs were for alcohol poisoning. That was a scary night for me now I wear the wristband and the background on my phone is the BeAware owl just to always remeind me of everything. Who ever thought of this idea is an amazing person. I support the BeWise 110%. Thank you so much <3

I love the site! The colors are bright and inviting and I love the owl. I'm an RA in DellPlain and wanted to make a suggestion---- Make a Facebook Page! I made a bulletin board with the Owls on it to get your message out. I thought it would be neat to post it on your wall. I can't seem to find a page.
Once again, great job and awesome message.
P.S. a suggestion for the Owl's name: AL "the alcohol Owl"
